Fiat Reconditioned Engine

Is A Fiat Reconditioned Engine - A Worthy Investment?

One of the options I faced was to choose a Fiat reconditioned engine when the day finally dawned when my engine sputtered, blew up smoke, and coughed for one last time. I know to drive a car and that is about it, not very informed about the mechanical aspects. It was at the workshop that my suspicion was confirmed, I needed to have the engine replaced and my options were to opt for a used, reconditioned, or a brand new engine.

Opting For a Fiat Reconditioned Engine

My car was rather old, but it was in good condition and still had a few years in it, but the cost of a brand new engine was out of question, as it was costing more than what my car was worth! No way will I be spending that much when I could possibly get a used car at that rate. So out goes option number one.

My friends told me perhaps I should look for a relatively cheap used engine from a salvage yard. I did try and search for it online. There were many advertisements but some of the engines had clocked many thousand miles, which I was told to avoid. The reason given to me was that the more miles that had been clocked; the more battered and in need of constant maintenance was the engine. I was told that I could get an engine that was in good condition, but that it was from a car that had been badly smashed up. I am a sentimental female and using something that had so much tragedy attached to it was not something I was keen on. Strike two, not using a used engine either.

I found a firm advertising reconditioned engines and contacted them. A Fiat reconditioned engine is an engine that has been taken apart, completely repaired and serviced until it was built as per the manufacturer's specifications. It seemed to cost a bit, but not as much as a brand new engine. The firm offered to get me a Fiat reconditioned engine and have it fitted within a couple of days. They could pick up my vehicle, drive it to their workshop, have the engine fitted and deliver it after the job had been completed. They offered a warranty of 36 months with service.

I also came across this firm offering reconditioned engines that they could ship to me within a couple of days. I had to have the engine fitted locally. The warranty offered was limited to 6 months or 22,000 km, which ever came first. It cost only slightly lesser than the other firm. So the firm that would service my car was the one I opted for and had the Fiat reconditioned engine fitted. The car is back on the road, my pockets are not too light and I have a song on my lips, perhaps a Fiat reconditioned engine is a worthy investment after all.
